Carol Anderson teaches at Kalamazoo College, and publishes in the area of South Asian Buddhism, and feminist studies in religion.  She is the author of Pain and Its Ending:  The Four Noble Truths in Theravada Buddhism, 1999, and co-edited a volume in honor of Professor W. S. Karunatillake, Embedded Languages:  Studies in the Religion, Culture, and History of Sri Lanka, 2012.  She is currently working on a project that explores sex and gender in the Pali Buddhist canon and commentaries.
